On this picturesque day, the Horsetooth Reservoir shines under a clear blue sky, enhancing its already stunning beauty. Located behind the first ridge of the foothills of the northern front range rocky mountains, west of Fort Collins, it spans approximately 6.5 miles from north to south, and stretches about half a mile in width, at an elevation of 5,430 feet. It is widely regarded as one of the finest reservoirs on the front range of the Rockies.
