Wide autumn season panoramic view of Gold Hill, Boulder County Colorado. Gold Hill was established in 1859 as the first permanent mining camp in the Colorado rocky mountains at an elevation of about 8,300 feet. Today Gold Hill has about 200 residents and more than 30 historic buildings, many of which are made of logs and date back to the town’s late nineteenth-century mining boom.
