Ward Colorado

The very cool small town of Ward Colorado at elevation 9,450 feet. The population was 150 at the 2010 census.

Ward is a former mining town founded in 1860 in the wake of the gold rush at nearby Gold Hill.

Once one of the richest towns in the state during the Colorado Gold Boom, it is located on a mountainside at the top of Left Hand Canyon, near the Peak to Peak Highway (Highway 72) NW of Boulder.
